Dragons Cave Info Day
With just under a week left to apply for Dragons Cave Pre Accelerator, OMGKRK hosted an event to give a sneak peek into the cave. The event, ‘Info Day’ was attended by Dragons Cave applicants, mentors and members of OMGKRK.
The Info Day began with a showcasing of the Dragons Cave Pre Accelerator program and how it can support early-stage startups. The Head of Operations for the Foundation Supporting #OMGKRK, Pawel Kulon, gave a low down on the growth program that consists of 10-week-long series of workshops and mentoring sessions with some of Krakow’s leading CEOs, investors and lawyers. The stage was then open for some of the applicants to pitch their ideas to a jam-packed room.
The innovative ideas covered various niches as they ranged from creative toilet brush solution to a blockchain service to ease trading of cryptocurrencies. Two ideas that caught the attention of our mentors were, a road mapping service to highlight and fix potholes and an app to find pet sitters. The audience also contributed some words of advice. One tip that seemed to make an impact on everyone was that a startup has a greater chance to succeed if its product is something that the founders would use for themselves. Wiktor Sarota, CEO of Infakt, said that the real success of a startup’s idea lies not in making an impression or winning competitions but in its ability to get recurring paying clients.
The event ended with a buzzing networking session.
If you could not make it Thursday but believe you have an idea which is already in development and want to collaborate with other like-minded entrepreneurs and experienced professionals from the Krakow tech scene, registration for Dragons Cave Pre Accelerator is still open till June 23rd.
