The Problem: Not Enough Women In Leadership Positions In Krakow Startups
The Foundation Supporting #OMGKRK’s initiative is a response to the low percentage of startups managed by women. According to Startup Poland 2019 Report only 24,6% of startups have a female co-founder and this percentage is decreasing year to year.
The same problem refers to Krakow ecosystem, so far, we have been able to identify only a dozen or so startups in Krakow that are co-founded or co-managed by female entrepreneur.
“Women can be great experts, dedicated employees, wonderful mothers and wives. We want to prove that they can also be amazing startup leaders. Our 2 month mentoring program aims to develop innovative and scalable female-led startup ventures in Malopolska, by focusing on women founder development and offering customized one-on-one support adjusted to their needs.”
Foundation Supporting #OMGKRK
This program is dedicated to women startup founders who are already running their business as well as females who want to start their journey as startup leaders and have a solid business idea at least in the MVP stage. The condition of participation is the technological component or innovative nature of the business concept and global application capabilities.

How The Program Works
Mentoring for program participants will be implemented in the form of 1:1 consultations. The subject of the consultation will be adapted to the needs of mentee indicated in the contact form and specified at the recruitment stage and during mentoring.
Each girl will have 1 leading guardian (leader of the Krakow startup) and up to 3 support mentors, experts in particular business fields chosen during the recruitment process. 1:1 meetings will be arranged between mentee and mentors, based on their availability.
The lead mentor will provide the mentee with the following support over a 2-month period:
- At least one direct meeting per month
- At least 2 hours of remote consultations per month
A support mentor will offer mentee 2 hours of remote consultations per month during the program duration (i.e. 2 months).
The topic of the consultation will be strictly adjusted to the preferences of the mentee and her needs.
Mentoring will help women founders not only get professional advice and improve their expertise, but also receive introductions to the other players that will help their business succeed such as investors, advisors etc.
The Foundation Supporting #OMGKRK team will also do its best to promote the startups participating in the program and engaging them in other community activities.
