The foundation supporting companies and entrepreneurs in Cracow is looking to hire a full time event manager. If you get #OMGKRK, understand what community building is, you’re hyper-organized people person, consider applying.
A main objective for the event manager is to increase a number of attendees who said the event they just attended was worth going to.
Here is a big, but certainly not complete list of challenges you’ll face as event manager for the #OMGKRK:
PROMOTION:
- Increase the quality of existing events by working with organizers on topics such as promotion, speakers, better venues, partners, sponsors, etc.
- Make sure that the majority of (ideally all) events are recorded and uploaded to #OMGKRK YouTube channel for all who couldn’t attend.
- Make sure that all events mention #OMGKRK and ways people can contribute to and benefit from joining the community.
ORGANIZATION
- Make sure that every guest from abroad or other cities share their expertise with the community in one way or another.
- Connect new faces with existing events.
- Welcome and manage volunteers who want to help with events in Cracow. Volunteers: apply here!
ACCELERATION
- Make sure that every person who ever said “I wish there was an event on X” can make this event happen with our help.
- Build and maintain a workflow that people can apply to create small, medium, and big events.
KNOWLEDGE
- Maintain a database of all events and events’ organizers in Cracow.
- Maintain a database of venues for all kinds of startup events.
- Build and maintain relationship with partners and possible sponsors.
- Work with partners to publish these databases online.
- Analyze events and publish your research on the omgkrk.com website regularly.
RELATIONSHIP
- Cooperate with public, educational, and commercial institutions in Cracow and encourage knowledge exchange between them and #OMGKRK community.
- Regularly report on all of your activities by posting updates on omgkrk.com website.
Why event manager is the first person we hire? Events are the best places for the future co-founders to meet, where you look for the first employees and/or investors, where you can pitch your startup idea to other people and get a valuable feedback (and a ton of it). And off course it’s a place where you can jump two steps ahead by listening to people smarter than you for free.
At the same time events are great way to promote community to those who didn’t hear about it yet. At the beginning of an event take 2 minutes to promote two others, and the promotion is organic and viral. Attendees will go to more events, learn more things, meet more people.
