Dominika Walec departs the Foundation for City of Krakow
Last week, Dominika Walec stepped down as CEO of #OMGKRK to take on a new role as the Plenipotentiary of the Krakow Mayor, focusing on business relations development.
For years, she has been a driving force behind Krakow’s startup and tech ecosystem, leading over 50 initiatives that supported innovation and entrepreneurship, including major events like Summer Jam, Krakow Tech Summit, and international acceleration programs.
She authored the Krakow Startup Report, received the Małopolska Economic Award at Krynica Forum 2024, and graduated from the prestigious Impact Pioneers program.
Beyond OMGKRK, she has spent over a decade supporting the Polish-American tech startup Estimote and advising global brands like Coca-Cola, Nestlé, Air France, and BMW on digital transformation.
While she embarks on this new chapter, Dominika remains a key asset to Krakow’s innovation ecosystem, continuing to shape its future. We wish her great success in her new role!

Former Foundation President Paul Kulon returns for a second term
Paul Kulon, who previously led the Foundation from 2017 to 2020 —transforming it from a Facebook fanpage into a key driver of Małopolska’s innovation ecosystem—returns as CEO. Under his leadership, the Foundation launched pre-acceleration programs, #OMGKRK Academy, and Entrepreneur Club events.
A Polish-American from Chicago with a background in International Relations, Paul has spent the past few years in Berlin and in sales roles at tech startups. Now, he brings fresh insights and experience to further accelerate Krakow’s tech scene.
