On 6 November 2024, Kraków will host the first edition of the Kraków Tech Summit, an event dedicated to the promotion and development of the start-up and innovation sector. By building the potential and stature of this environment, we want to make Kraków the heart of the entire ecosystem where innovation meets science and business. The event will be held under the patronage of Kraków Mayor Aleksander Miszalski.
A start-up community supported by business and scientific circles has been developing in Kraków for years. The Kraków Tech Summit is an event that aims to become a platform to connect these communities, inspire action, and open up new opportunities on a scale never before seen in Kraków. Initiators of the event are organisations that actively promote the development of the innovation sector in the city, such as Kraków5020, Krakow School of Business at the Krakow University of Economics, Krakow the City of Startups Foundation, Regional Institute for Education Development, the GAP Foundation, Krakow Technology Park, #OMGKRK, La French Tech Cracovie, the Gen AI Krakow community, the Live Age agency and Symposium Cracoviense.
Kraków Tech Summit 2024 is not only a space for networking and experience sharing, but also a place for intense education and collaboration in key technology areas. During the November event, participants will have an opportunity to take part in panels, lectures and practical workshops focused on the following main themes:
1. Artificial Intelligence (AI)
The theme of artificial intelligence (AI) offers an opportunity to explore and understand the potential of such technology and its impact on the future of companies and the development of science. It aims to build an interdisciplinary dialogue on the challenges and opportunities of AI and to create a space for the exchange of ideas and experiences in its field. The AI theme also offers valuable advice, skill development, practical knowledge and networking opportunities in the area of artificial intelligence.
2. Green Technology
The Green Technology theme also known as the climate summit will bring together representatives of businesses, science, technology and social activism to focus on the issues of climate change mitigation and carbon footprint reduction. It encourages the development of new solutions, the establishment of further business collaborations and the mobilisation of society and institutions to take responsible action for the environment.
3. Innovation Ecosystem
The Innovation Ecosystem theme focuses on the building of networks between various stakeholders in the start-up ecosystem. It will provide an opportunity to showcase the capabilities of start-ups, to consult them with the R&D departments of the largest players in the market, potential investors and business support institutions. It will feature interactive workshops and panel discussions to help identify development opportunities.
4. Start for Good
This element of the programme demonstrates how to use modern notions of mission and value to develop an effective and meaningful business. The Start for Good theme will include a presentation of ways to build a value-based brand at the strategy level and in areas of its execution. And how to seek your place in a business that changes the world for the better.
The event will also be accompanied by an inspiring Eco-Citizen hackathon that will challenge participants on ecology and civic participation in this area, KTS Way Up!, which consists of meetings of start-up representatives and mentors, as well as the Pitching Fight Club, i.e. a competition for the best business idea.
