Krynica Forum 2024 – A Prestigious Gathering of Thought Leaders
The Krynica Forum, often referred to as the “Polish Davos,” is one of the most significant economic and political events in Central and Eastern Europe. The 2024 edition, held under the theme of “Empowering the Region,” convened over 150 leaders from business, academia, and politics for three days of intensive discussions. The forum covered a range of pressing topics, from geopolitics and resilience to local economic development and sustainability. This year’s focus also centered on the role of innovation and entrepreneurship in strengthening regional economies, making it a perfect platform for OMGKRK to showcase its impact on Krakow’s startup ecosystem.

Our CEO was invited to share her insights during a panel discussion organized by the Małopolska Regional Government, which focused on how local startups are breaking into global markets through innovative solutions. Joining the panel were influential business leaders such as Magda Kordon, CEO of IntoDNA, and Marek Kulig, CEO of KrakowTechnology Park an expert in economic development. The discussion explored ways to strengthen collaboration between public institutions, private companies, and startups in fostering economic growth. Dominika emphasized the crucial role that OMGKRK plays in creating a vibrant, supportive ecosystem for entrepreneurs in Krakow, and highlighted specific programs that have nurtured groundbreaking innovations.
She also stressed the importance of fostering partnerships between startups and established businesses to drive innovation, particularly in sectors like technology and creative industries. The panel concluded with a call to action for both public and private sectors to continue investing in talent development and supporting young entrepreneurs as key drivers of regional competitiveness.
Special Recognition: Małopolska Economic Award 2024
During the event’s second day, at the formal Małopolska Evening Gala, Dominika was awarded the special Małopolska Economic Award 2024, which honors leaders and companies driving the region’s economic growth. This prestigious award has been given annually for the past 15 years by the Małopolska Voivodeship, recognizing those who excel in innovation, sustainability, and regional development. Dominika was recognized for her visionary leadership and tireless efforts in developing Krakow’s startup scene, as well as her contribution to establishing Małopolska as a hub for cutting-edge technology and entrepreneurship.
At the gala, key regional officials, including Marshal Łukasz Smółka, Vice Marshals Witold Kozłowski and Ryszard Pagacz, and several other esteemed members of the regional government, presented the awards. Marshal Smółka emphasized that the award represents more than just business success; it highlights the responsibility to build a sustainable economy that considers social and environmental impacts.

The Krynica Forum also showcased several other notable sessions, including a panel on sustainable development led by Adam Drewniany, who was also a recipient of the Małopolska Special Award for his achievements in technology.
